Foundation Degree in Pastoral Mission
How will I learn?
The teaching for the modules takes place through Saturday sessions from 10am-2pm from October to mid-July. There are ten sessions for each module. You also learn through supervised work in your parish or place of work and through regular contact with a work-based mentor and with a programme tutor with whom you are in regular contact throughout the programme through face-to-face meetings and e-mail and/or telephone contact. There are some on-line resources to help you, as well as discussion groups with other students. Your programme tutor will assist you in building up a portfolio of learning for each module based on your work-based learning experience.
How will I be assessed?
Assessment involves the building up of a work-based portfolio for each module. The portfolio will include short papers, presentations, parish surveys and an ongoing pastoral journal connecting the learning in class with work in the parish or place of work.
Fees
Fees are payable in three instalments in September, January and April, or, by arrangement, in twelve monthly payments commencing in June prior to the start of the Foundation Degree. Details of current fees can be obtained from the Finance Office.
