BA Philosophy, Religion and Ethics
How will I learn?
You will experience a range of teaching styles, including formal lectures, interactive lectures, case studies, student-led presentations and text-based seminars. Each class has two hours of teaching time (usually a two-hour class) per week over two 11-week terms for whole modules and over one term for half modules. Directed reading and other independent learning are vital elements of your learning. Tutorials - often one-to-one – are based on coursework essays and similar tasks, and in some cases on work in draft.
How will I be assessed?
Modules are normally assessed by a combination of coursework tasks completed during or shortly after the period of module teaching, and either an end-of-year essay or an end-of-year examination. Coursework tasks may include essays and other written tasks such as reports on seminar presentations, guided reading, case studies etc.
