Liturgy at Heythrop

Liturgy at Heythrop

1. Daily Eucharist

A daily celebration of the Eucharist takes place in the Maria Assupta Chapel at 13.30 on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays during term time (except Reading Week). Ordained members of the Chaplaincy as well as the Academic Staff take turns in presiding. The Eucharist is celebrated according to the Roman Catholic Rite, however members of other Christian communities are most welcome to join us in prayer.

2. College Weekly Eucharist

The Eucharist is celebrated weekly in a more solemn way and is attended by the whole college community. This takes place on Thursdays during term time (except Reading Weeks). The ordained members of the Chaplaincy as well as the Academic Staff take turns in presiding. Special guests are invited to preside occasionally. The Eucharist is celebrated according the Roman Catholic Rite, however members of other Christian communities are most welcome to join us in prayer.

3. College Advent, Lent and Easter/Pentecost Services

The Heythrop community gathers for special moments of prayer during the seasons of Advent, Lent and Easter. These occur normally once every term. The newly formed Heythrop Schola Cantorum leads the music and the singing. Please see forthcoming Chaplaincy Newsletters for details regarding the next college prayer service.
