Ecumenism at Heythrop

Ecumenism at Heythrop

The Chaplaincy aims at supporting all members of the Heythrop Community in their faith, both students and staff. For this purpose one of the areas of commitment is the care of Christians belonging to all denominations and communities, which aims at fostering ecumenical unity.

The Chaplain in charge of ecumenism at Heythrop is Fr Rocco, who is assisted by the Ecumenical Team in the organisation ad implementation of ecumenical initiatives.

As this is a new area of Chaplaincy work, Fr Rocco and the Ecumenical Team are eager to receive suggestions on how to improve our service. For information, suggestions and if you wish to be part of the team, please contact Fr Rocco (r.viviano@heythrop.ac.uk).

HEYTHROP WEEKLY ECUMENICAL PRAYER

A Weekly Ecumenical Prayer take place on Mondays at 16:45-17:15, in the Rahner Room which is located on the ground floor of the main building, near the lift. The prayer is led in turns by members of the team as well as other partcipants.

The leaders are encouraged to bring in the richness of their own tradition into the prayer, so that it becomes an occasion for mutual enrichment among Christians of various denominations. The essential ingredients however are the Word of God and silence.

The purpose is to pray for and on behalf of the whole Heythrop Community.

All are sincerely welcome
