Why choose this course?

The theology of religions is one of the most exciting and rapidly developing movements in the intellectual life of the Church to have emerged in recent years. It touches upon philosophical issues of religious pluralism and diversity, political questions about multiculturalism and social cohesion, more ethical questions about inter-personal relations and religiously inspired violence, as well as theological questions about the nature and limits of the language people of faith use to talk about God, human destiny and the world.

Heythrop’s commitment to interreligious relations and its broadly based research culture, plus the College’s position in the heart of multi-cultural London combine to make this innovative programme an appropriate platform for suitably qualified students with experience of religious diversity at some level and a first-hand knowledge of some aspect of the theological, social or cultural interaction of communities of faith.

What could I go on to do?

This degree is aimed specifically at students who wish to go on to do research at MPhil or PhD level. The degree is a good foundation for further research, at Heythrop or elsewhere.
