Why choose this course?
This degree provides an opportunity for advanced study of Biblical texts, with an emphasis on current methodologies. You will study a range of texts from both the Old and New Testaments, and develop the critical skills to interpret those texts in the contexts of both the ancient world and modern society.
The degree is likely to be of interest to teachers and to those involved in church-related ministries, as well as those who have a particular interest in textual study of biblical literature. It can form a valuable part of ongoing education for ministers.
What could I go on to do?
• Many part-time students continue in their existing work or ministry, seeing the degree as a step to improve or refresh professional development or to improve career opportunities.
• The degree is a good foundation for further research, at Heythrop or elsewhere.
