Money Matters

Paying your Postgraduate Fees

Welcome to Heythrop College!  We’re looking forward to seeing you in the new academic year.  Before that though, there is some financial administration to get right.

There are important pieces of information you need to read and forms you need to complete.

Please try to do this as soon as you can and return the forms to us by post.

If you have problems filling in the forms or are not sure what to do then please get in touch or bring these forms (and any other documentation referred to in the forms) with you when you come to College.  We can help you then.

IMPORTANT DEADLINE

It is important that we receive your forms and payment of your tuition fee (or a first instalment), or proof that your tuition fee will be paid, at or before the start of the academic year.

FORMS

There are five forms available to download (FORMS A TO E) and three information sheets (INFORMATION SHEETS 1 to 3).  Most of you will not need to complete and return all of the five forms.  Please read this letter, the information sheets and FORM A carefully to work out which forms you need to complete and return to us.

You should ALL, please, complete and return FORM A and FORM B.

• FORM A (the tuition fee form) tells us two main things for the academic year ahead: (1) the total tuition fee due for the course you are studying and (2) whom we should expect to receive the tuition fee from and when we should expect to receive the fees that are due.  The form is your assurance to the College that your tuition fees will be paid.  It also helps you work out which other forms you need to complete.

You will also need to complete and return:
• FORM B (the fees assessment form) only if you are a new student to the College or your fee status has changed (for example, because of a change in your residency status).   This form is required by law (the Education Fees and Awards England Regulations 2007 Statutory Instrument No 779!).  INFORMATION SHEET 2 provides guidance on completing it.  Despite its length, for many students this is usually quite an easy form to complete.  We’d love to make this simpler, but we must also comply with the law.
• FORM C (the payment by card form) only if you (or someone on your behalf other than a sponsor) plan to pay your tuition fee in instalments by credit or debit card, or if you want to pay by card but cannot be present in person.
• FORM D (the direct debit form) only if you (or someone on your behalf other than a sponsor) plans to pay some or all of your tuition fee in three instalments and by direct debit.
• FORM E (the sponsor form) only if government, a company, charity, religious body or employer has agreed to pay some or all of your tuition fee for you.

WHAT TO BRING TO COLLEGE

You should ALL, please, bring with you to College at the start of the academic year:

• All appropriate  forms if you haven’t already sent them to us in advance by post.
• Documentary evidence of nationality, residence or immigration status (as set out in FORM B) if you are a new student or if your fee status has changed.
• If you haven’t done so in advance then, evidence that your tuition fee will be paid (for example, a completed sponsor form, FORM E – see above) OR, some means of payment: either a cheque, credit or debit card, or completed payment by card form, FORM C and, if you plan to pay by instalments, a completed direct debit form, FORM D.

CONFUSED?

The best way to get all this right is to work through it all carefully as soon as you can and to:

• Complete FORM A
• Follow the instructions in FORM A and complete any of the other necessary forms ( B, C, D & E)
• Use the forms to decide what supporting documentation you need to provide.

If you are stuck then you can get in touch (see “HELP” below) or we can help you when you come to College to register.  Please bring as much relevant information and documentation as you can.
