Staff Expertise

Staff expertise is an important element of the College’s knowledge transfer activities, and the College publishes a Staff Research Directory to enable the public to contact a member of staff whose expertise may be of interest to them. Enquires include those from the general public, from the media and from those requiring specialist knowledge.   Staff can be invited to speak at a range of gatherings, for example of business leaders, community groups, church groups and others. Please contact the individual member of staff directly to make any arrangements. Also, do listen out for Heythrop staff who frequently contribute to television and radio programmes as experts in their field. You will also find articles by Heythrop staff, or interviews with Heythrop staff, in a number of newspapers and magazines. Some members of staff write especially for the more general reader, including school pupils, to help bring the academic work of the College to a broader audience. These include Dr Stephen Law, whose work on Philosophy is well known to those studying the subject at A level.

Events

The College offers a range of events, which may be of interest to the wider community. These are usually led by one of its Centres or Institutes.

Programmes

While offering a full range of academic programmes leading to Bachelors, Masters or Research degrees, the College  offers non degree level study which may be of interest to the wider community.

The College offers a range of non degree training programmes for those in religious life.

The College wishes to broaden access to higher education for anyone who can benefit from it and so offers support for students from non traditional backgrounds, including those from a range of faiths or those of no faith, those with support requirements and students of all age groups. It has a range of support mechanisms for students with particular needs.

The College offers full time and part time programmes to help those with external commitments who may need more flexible forms of study. We are also the Lead College for Divinity programmes within the London External Degrees system.

To help those considering applying for Higher Education the College offers a number of Subject taster days and Open Days for Theology, Philosophy and Pastoral and Social Studies. Schools or individuals are welcome to apply for these events.
