This conference will explore issues raised in the recent book Religion and Atheism: Beyond the Divide edited by Anthony Carroll and Richard Norman. Drawing on both western and non-western perspectives, the day will explore the possible approaches to dialogue between religious and non-religious people with the aim of fostering a better understanding of our contemporary pluralistic societies and their various constitutive traditions.
