Location: Syon House, Syon Park, Brentford, Middlesex TW8 8JF
We are delighted to announce that this year’s Summer Ball will take place at the exquisite Syon Park on Thursday 28th May. This breath-taking venue will provide the backdrop for a Summer Ball that takes place during a pivotal moment of change in the College’s 401 year history and is a worthy venue for reflecting upon the many wonderful students and staff that have lavished our College with their commitment and love over the years.
Syon Park provides Heythrop students with two wonderful and unique venues in the same evening. Firstly guests will be able to explore Syon House, the spectacular 16th century home of the Duke of Northumberland, and enjoy a glass of fizz from 6.30pm in the Inner Courtyard after experiencing the impressive history of the House when strolling through the Great Hall, the Ante Room, the State Dining Room, the Red Drawing Room and the Long Gallery.
Guests will then be escorted shortly before 7.30pm to the Great Conservatory, a separate and equally impressive glass domed conservatory which is surrounded by beautiful gardens, for a three course meal (please find the menu below) which will be accompanied by wine, beer and/or soft drinks. During the meal includes; the traditional Union Awards, Principal’s opening address and the sabbaticals’ speeches.
The meal will then be followed by DJ and dancing (that part comes from you!) There will be a free bar once the meal is finished, serving; beers, wines, spirits and soft drinks - Certainly no thirsty students at this Ball. Lux Studios will also be on hand for anyone that wishes to take home a special memory as they offer onsite photos printed and framed for just £5. The event will finish at midnight.
