Come along to the second careers evening where we will have a panel of highly experienced professionals to learn from and engage with at the start and then later on network with these professionals and recent graduates from varying universities to talk about the transition from university life to the world of work and how to get that first position. Complementary cheese and wine will be on offer throughout the evening. The networking session will include graduates now in positions in: Finance, Think Tanks, Advertising and Marketing, HR and Recruitment, Resourcing, Customer Engagement, Law, I.T and Accounting.

Before becoming the Centre’s Chief Executive in November 2002, Cathy worked for CAFOD in a variety of senior posts including Director of the International Division. In addition to overall budget responsibility, extensive overseas travel and being one of the agency’s chief media spokespersons, she spearheaded CAFOD’s response to emergencies and opened up its programme in Eastern Europe. She also chaired the Caritas Internationalis Emergency Aid Commission in Rome. She is currently a Trustee of CSAN, the Caritas Social Action Network. With the strapline of ‘Turning Lives Around’ the Cardinal Hume Centre, based in Central London, works with homeless young people, families, refugees, migrants and others dealing with poverty and homelessness, providing a wide range of services on one site to help them overcome the multiple barriers facing them.
John Darley graduated from Imperial College with degrees in mathematics and petroleum engineering in 1971. He joined Shell International and worked in series of overseas assignments, initially in engineering roles and subsequently in general management positions. Following retirement in 2006, he has taken a number of voluntary roles in the area of social justice, with a prime focus on prisoner rehabilitation. He also serves as a Board member of a number of charitable organisations.
James Holland is a Director of a company that has grown from a garage startup to a million pound turnover business. His company both manufacture and import transportation cases for a range of industries. Working with a team of 8 employees, dealing with large volumes of imports from the Far East and overseeing his own UK production line, James already has a wealth of business experience.
Andrew Kennedy - Chairman of Governors. A former Corporate Lawyer and Senior Partner of a City Practice and longstanding Law Society Council Member. Non-executive experience with UK and USA Public and Private Companies. Former Governor of a University in London and a University College. Governorships of Public and Private Primary and Secondary Schools. Trustee of a UK Health Charity.
Ros Turner has been involved with workplace ministry since 2003, supporting and growing leaders of Christian Workplace Groups across the professions, industry and commerce. Her passion is to see every believer living for Jesus wherever He puts them! Outside work Ros is getting better acquainted with the world of DIY, whether that’s making a butcher’s trolley or discovering the joys of decorator’s caulk! She loves a game of badminton and an early morning swim, loves to spend time with friends and is often found on the dancefloor busting a few moves.
