Terms of Reference
1. To develop the College’s systems for the quality assurance and enhancement of taught programmes and to review their effectiveness, including their alignment with the national academic infrastructure, and make recommendations to the Academic Board accordingly.
2. To take account of national initiatives for the enhancement of quality and other evidence of best practice within and beyond the University, and make proposals to the Academic Board accordingly.
3. To monitor the implementation of the College Strategy for Learning, Teaching and Assessment and from time to time recommend to Academic Board adjustments to the actions proposed within the strategy.
4. To review annually information relevant to quality and standards, including data on entry, progression and completion.
5. To review the outcomes of the annual College student satisfaction survey and (when relevant) the outcomes of the national student survey.
6. To oversee the annual updating of the regulations for all taught programmes at the College (including any College-specific progression on regulations within the Federal Philosophy programmes) and recommend the regulations for approval by the Academic Board.
7. To advise the Academic Board on provisions for the assurance of quality and standards in any partnership with an organisation outside the University of London to offer all or part of a taught programme.

8. The Committee will ensure, in respect of the areas of College life falling within its remit, that unlawful discrimination on grounds of age, disability, gender re-assignment, marriage and civil partnership, pregnancy and maternity, race, religion and belief (including lack of belief), sex, or sexual orientation, does not occur. It will ensure this by

a) monitoring appropriate data sets at suitable intervals, and

 b) explicitly considering the impact on equality issues of any new actions, policies or procedures which it initiates or approves.
