Terms of Reference
1. To approve and review the salary, emoluments, allowances and other financial benefits payable by the College to the Principal and to the Vice Principal, or sums reimbursed to another employer for the services of the Principal or the Vice Principal.

2. To approve and review the salary, emoluments, allowances and other financial benefits payable by the College to any staff in or above Grade 10 of the College’s Staff Salary scales (that is, staff on National Pay Spine Point 50 and above), and any other staff recommended by the Governing Body.

3. With regard to the public interest and avoiding inappropriate use of public funds, the Committee shall approve severance or early retirement payments to the staff whose salaries are reviewed or reported under paragraphs 1 and 2 or in respect of academic staff seeking or proposed for severance or early retirement.

4. To seek comparative information on salaries and other benefits and conditions of service in the HE sector.

5. The Chair shall have the power to act on behalf of the Committee in case of urgency.

6. To report to the Governing Body with sufficient detail of the broad criteria and policies against which decisions have been made.
