Kevin Donovan Memorial Lecture

Prof. John Baldovin SJ (Boston College):

“Sacrosanctum Concilium, 45 years on”

Saturday 26th September 2009 at 5.30pm
Heythrop College, University of London, Kensington Square, London

Fr. Kevin Donovan SJ was a deeply loved teacher, musician, pastor and friend who brought tremendous enthusiasm to his teaching and preaching, and who encouraged and supported hundreds of students in liturgy and pastoral theology.

26th September would have been Kevin’s birthday, so it seems a good day to meet in his honour and to celebrate his life and vision with the Kevin Donovan Memorial Lecture.

We are very pleased to have Rev. Prof. John Baldovin SJ as the inaugural speaker on this occasion. Fr Baldovin taught liturgy and sacramental theology for many years at the Jesuit School of Theology in Berkeley, and now teaches at Boston College. He is a past president of the North American Academy of Liturgy, and of Societas Liturgica, and is currently president of the Jungmann Society of Jesuit liturgical scholars.

His most recent book: Reforming the Liturgy, a response to the critics, was published by the Liturgical Press in 2009.

The lecture will be preceded by Mass in the Maria Assumpta Chapel at 4.00pm, to be celebrated by Bishop Alan Hopes, with Rev. Allen Morris as homilist.
