David Stewart SJ

Fr.David is a Jesuit priest serving as the Chaplain here at Heythrop. The Chaplains work very closely with the Student Development staff. Together, we aim to provide you with the personal & spiritual support you might need here at Heythrop College, in accord with the Jesuit educational ideal of "Cura personalis"; care of the whole person.
 
As well as being available on some days for conversation and support, he is currently planning a programme of events & initiatives that reflect the Jesuit, Ignatian character of Heythrop College, its history and heritage. These include prayer, liturgical & service opportunities, participation in national & international events such as World Youth Day in Madrid 2011 and an ambitious project to link with a Jesuit school in E.Africa. Jesuit students worldwide are encouraged to become "men and women for others" this applies here, too.
 
Fr.Dave is also Director of First Sunday Plus Young Adult Ministry, based here at Heythrop, organising opportunities for liturgy & spirituality, service & companionship for young adults in the London area. Fr.Dave is present in the Chaplaincy Office in the Copleston Wing for four days of most weeks, or with Fr.Rocco Viviano sx in the Main Building Student Development office. His day-by-day availability is posted, on the bulletin-board by the office-door, each week of term-time. During available times, there is always a pot of freshly-brewed coffee to share.
