Biography

I received my doctorate from Oxford University (1990). The thesis was an investigation of the thought of Hegel, Barth and Rahner and the attempt to construct a contemporary metaphysics of the Trinity.  On completion of the doctorate, I was appointed Headmaster of St. Aloysius' College, Glasgow. During my tenure the College became a member of the HMC. Upon completion of this appointment I returned to theology as a visiting scholar at Weston Jesuit School of Theology, Cambridge Mass. and Campion Hall Oxford before taking up my appointment as lecturer in systematic Theology, Heythrop College. During this time I was also Head of the Systematic Theology Department.

I have also been a lecturer in dogmatic theology at Chesters Inter-Diocesan Seminary and Scotus College ( Scotland) and at Allen Hall, Seminary for the Archdiocese of Westminster.
