Biography

David Lonsdale read English language and literature at Oxford, undergraduate theology in Rome and postgraduate theology at London University.

Current teaching

He teaches Christian spirituality in two programmes: the MA in Christian Spirituality and the MA in Pastoral Theology. His present taught postgraduate modules are:

Foundations for the study of Christian spirituality
Patterns of spiritual growth and human transformation
Texts and themes in English spirituality
Spiritual direction in pastoral contexts

He also supervises research students.

Research interests

His research interests include:

the relationships between Christian faith, theology and practice, literature, the arts, theology and spirituality
the theme of human transformation in Christian theology and spirituality

His books on aspects of Christian spirituality have been translated into several languages.
